Edinburgh Demo Against Cuts part 3/3

Anti-cuts demonstration in Edinburgh Princes Street and Princes Gardens called by the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC.) Twenty thousand protest marchers assembled in East Market St and marched down past Waverley Station onto Princes St to the far end of Princes St then made their way down the steps into Princes Gardens and marched to the Ross bandstand where a rally against the cuts took place. The demonstration was so long that you could see it doubled up. From Princes Gardens you could look up to Princes Street and see the second half of the demonstration seemingly going in the opposite direction. A multitude of organisations like trade unions, single issue groups, charities, women’s, youth, pensioner 0:05, faith groups and political parties took part. It was a family-friendly atmosphere and many people took their kids along too. But while the atmosphere was quite upbeat on the march no punches were pulled on the platform at the rally when criticising the government. This video is of footage of parts of the demo in Princes Gardens, Princes St, back to Princes Gdns up to the point where they arrive at the Ross bandstand and the rally is being introduced. Apart from protestors chanting anticuts slogans and waving flags and holding banners there was quite a lot of music on the march.
