The Wave Glasgow Demonstration 2009 Bellahouston Park

Wave demonstrators gathered in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park for a 2.5 mile long march through Glasgow to Kelvingrove Park on the north side of the river to send a message of protest to the COP15 climate summit in Copenhagen. Bellahouston Park in south-west Glasgow attracted a fair number of people who assembled for the Wave climate change demonstration in Glasgow whilst several more Wave demos occurred in different cities to highlight the urgent situation facing us all with global warming and climate change occurring far quicker than originally predicted by scientists. The marchers want governments round the world meeting for a climate summit at Copenhagen to not only take note of their concern but to act quickly in the interests of the whole world before it is too late. Governments need to implement laws that will force manufacturers and others to greatly reduce their carbon emissions which are causing global warming, melting of the polar ice-caps, rising sea-levels, flooding and other extreme weather conditions causing devastation throughout the world. Over-production for profit is killing the earth with toxins spilling from factories into the water, the earth and spewing into the sky. Intensive farming causes deforestation by clearing space to create fields depriving woodland wildlife of habitats, and poisoning of the earth and wildlife through overuse of chemical fertilisers.
